Please note that this itinerary is a sample only and is subject to change. You always have the option to stay in the village if you choose not to join the trips on any day.
The programme is aimed to take advantage of the breathtaking variety of this beautiful area – spring flowers in the fertile valleys, white villages, sunsets and sunrises over the mountain ranges and everything bathed in the incredible Andalucia light.
Day 1: Torrox Pueblo: Arrive
You are collected from Malaga airport and taken to the charming village of Torrox Pueblo.
After lunch on the terrace at Finca la Paz, Dave & Gills' house, settle in with a stroll around the village to get an initial feel for your location.
Evening - brief introductory session by John , with discussion of objectives and programme for the week.
In addition there will be regular evening workshops on different technical aspects throughout the week to enable you to analyse progress to date, to look at samples of work done and to highlight points of interest for the following day.

Torrox Village Street
Day 2
After breakfast, we meet in the Plaza to explore the beautiful village of Torrox. You will find the village is full of wonderful photo opportunities.
Torrox
John will always be on hand to allow people to discuss their existing skills, experience and style and to request any particular help and direction. For people with less photographic experience additional tuition and guidance will be provided.
Lunch at Finca la Paz
6.00 p.m - Workshop Session - this will begin with a discussion of the day’s work and will be followed by a session onLandscape Composition & Lighting in preparation for our visit to Lake Vinuela on the following day.
8.00 pm Vegetarian Banquet at Finca La Paz (Sample Menu)
Day 3
07:00Lake Vinuela
An early start this morning to photograph the sunrise over this beautiful lake.
We will continue to explore the lake and the surrounding area which will provide many photo opportunities.
6:00 pm Workshop Session This will begin with a discussion of the day’s work and will be followed by a session on Perspective in preparation for our visit to the disused Sugar Mill, the Maro Tower and the Aqueduct on the following day.
Evening : Dinner at Village Restaurant
Day 4
Today we will visit a ruined sugar mill, a Moorish Tower at Maro and a Victorian Aqueduct.
Picnic Lunch
6:00 pm Workshop Session - This will begin with a discussion of the day’s work and will be followed by a session on Architecture & Urban Composition in preparation for our visit to the white villages on Thursday
8:00 pm Evening - Dinner at local restaurant
DAY 5
This is a free day to spend as you please although Dave, Gill and John will always be on hand to make recommendations. However, if you wish to review your work to date with John, he will be delighted to spend some time with you.

Want to do something cultural? Malaga is just a bus ride away.
DAY 6
Morning trip to the beautiful white village of Frigiliana where you will be able to photograph the local market followed by a visit to Acebuchal – a pretty mountain village nestled in a charming valley where you will have an opportunity to paint the mountainous location, hidden corners and delightfully restored village houses.
Lunch – at Bar Restaurant Acebuchal, renowned for its home-cooked often locally procured meat and game dishes (vegetarian options available).
6:00 pm Workshop Session - This will begin with a discussion of the day’s work and will be followed by a session on Aspects of Composition continued in preparation for our visit to the Buddhist Stupa on the following day.
Evening : Tapas
Day 7
A visit to the Buddhist Stupa - The first Buddhist Kalachakra stupa built in the Western Hemisphere
Later in the afternoon John will hold discussions on the week’s activities and there will be a slide show of students' work.
Evening - our final evening meal together at a village restaurant.
